Omg yes I'm so glad you're reading this book. It is widely unpopular here but it is SO good. The main characters are so toxic and yet I loved them so much. I just wish she would hurry up and write the sequel already.

I just wish she would hurry up and write ..." I can't beileve more people haven't reviewed it. The characters are toxic, but it makes them so good. I did some research about the sequel and it looks like she held off on writing it bc she took another job and that company had it in her contract that she couldn't make money having a side hustle, even if it was self-publishing. She has an AO3 profile (same name), where she posted this as a comment under her sample chapters of Contention. She apparently got a new job this year and is looking into writing again, so fingers crossed.

For sure, I'm almost done and most likely will post the review for this and Contempt over the weekend. I feel so meh about Contempt though, so I'm not sure if I'll even post anything for that.

Oh that's amazing! I really hope she writes it soon. I've been waiting for over 2 years. I'm also going to have to reread this to refresh my memory.
@Irunia, I was going to recommend it to you, but it does end off on a cliffhanger, and I know how much you hate unfinished works, so I was holding off until she published the sequel. I do think you will love it, though!
