OK - this is more like it focusing on the (perhaps) final part of the long hard war betwixt Darrow and "The Society" (core Golds). This 2nd series (books 4-5) was just rambling around imho but so far this one matches the scope, energy and horror of the first three books. I'm not even a 1/4 way thru and there's been three jaw-dropping scenes (no spoilers).
