This guy Ted is such an inflated view of himself, but it’s always palatable, because he’s also tougher on himself than anyone. Opinionated as hell on baseball. Which is what he knew best in the world. That and fishing. And when he was done with baseball, he couldn’t wait to find a good boat or a good gun for his beloved fishing and hunting. He loved that maybe even more than his own family.

I know, huh? It’s research. I’m writing a play about him and his brother. Ted was half-Mexican. Hid it for most of his life. His brother, who didn’t “pass”, didn’t have that choice.
