I also havent read a book cover to cover in years and I've started writing myself during that time so I've developed some weird quirks within what I'd wanna see in fiction writing. the tldr is the prose isnt for me but I wouldn't dissuade anyone from reading!
Good to know! I’m a bit curious on if I’ll feel that way so I may pick it up.
