Sofia Oh yes, I do remember this phase :)

Desinka Lol, I'm sure it was fun:) I'm just starting and already horrified by the mess Emma can produce with just a couple of pieces of fruit and veggies:)

Did you do baby-led weaning too?

Sofia if with baby led you mean I responded to my sons wishes and times, yes. I did not want food to become a power play between us.

Desinka Baby-led means offering the baby chunks of different foods rather that puréed food. It's supposed to make babies independent and non-fussy eaters:)

Sofia A new perspective for me. I image you give them food types that can be easily broken down by a baby's mouth.

I think you need more time and patience for this type of feeding. You know having the patience to let them mess around and eat at their own time etc.... So you need relaxing time before you start Dessi :D

Therese Oh, I hope it goes well, I never heard about this before, but will consider it when the time comes! Of course, I thought the same about using the diaper-free method...( when I realize how babies poop, I quickly gave up:-))

When are they "supposed" to start with this baby led weaning?

Yes, you give them fruit and steamed/roast veggie cut into "fingers" first.

It does need patience but I'm getting to the method little by little. And to the mess, too:) it's quite fun actually and saves time and effort in the long run as the baby learns to feed herself.

Therese, it's a very sensible method I think:) it's best for breastfed babies as they're already used to being in control of their own feeding. You start it when the baby is 6 months old. Check the book in reading if you're curious. As for diaper free methods, I'm using reusable diapers now. But not during the night as they tend to leak. One has to make compromises and most of all find the balance between right and practicable:)
