One happy part in the story was when they announced that Peter and Katniss had both won the hunger games. For example, they were both about to put berries in their mouth that would kill both of them but right before they did they announced that they won. According to the text it states " Katnisss Everdeen and Peter Mellark! I give you the tributes of district twelve!" (345) This shows that they won the hunger games.

"One surprising part in the story was when Thresh saved Katniss from Clove. For example, Clove was about to kill Katniss but then Thresh came and killed Clove with a rock. According to the text it states " Thresh brings the rock down hard against Clove's temple. It's not bleeding, but I can see the dent in her skull and I know that she's a goner."(287) This proves that Thresh wants Katniss to win if he doesn't.

According to the text it states " Get up! Get up! I rise, but he's still pushing at me. What? What is going on? He shoves me away from him hard. Run" he screams. Run." This shows that Peter cares about her and wants her to win.

One shocking part was when they were introduced and they started holding hands during the hunger games. For example, they were about to go into a battle with each other a few days later. According to the text it states " He grabs my right in his left, and we look to Cinna for confirmation. He nods and gives a thumbs-up." This shows that they are trying to fool the other person into believing they are not a threat.

One sad part in the story The Hunger Games was when she talked about her dad dying. For, example it talks about how he taught her how to find food but then couldn't do that after he passed. The quote states " But there's also food if you know how to find it. My father knew and he taught me some before he was blown to bits in a mine explosion." (5) Lastly, I would like to say that this was sad to read about.
