Argh. It's not that this isn't well done (it is). It's just bleak and very, very thorough.
In another mood, I might enjoy it. I'm clearly in the wrong one at present. Pace of life is currently running much faster on my end than Elizabeth's.

I know a person (Kadi), who was bored to tears by Tom's Midnight Garden. Kadi - do not touch Robinsheugh with a barge pole!!! XD
Wow. It's plodding. Dunlop leaves nothing to chance - very thoroughly thought-through. Not at all 'rushed'. And the font on this edition is small.. pages turn slowly. :S
Really hoping it picks up a bit - still a lot of book left.
It might be that I'm just not in the mood for it.

I think it was Charlotte who said it was a bit depressing - I'm having trouble getting going. Miserable teenage girl, feeling sorry for herself (and rightly so)... it starts a little slowly. ;) Expecting it to pick up soon!
