Connie Willis rereads are the last resort when real life sucks so much that no book can hold your interest for more than a quarter of half a second. And that is a scientifically proven fact.

You read my mind! I actually thought about picking up TSNotD today, but went for Hitchhikers Guide instead

P.S. I hope this works for you as well as it did for me! 🤞

Adams! I meant Adams! 🤦♀️🤦♀️ Goes to show what state my poor grey cells are in these days 😅😅.
You are forgiven! It did the trick. Arthur's deep sense of lost and the wish to see something familiar among all the alien underwear resonated like never before.

Alien undewear, huh? That sounds pretty comforting indeed, maybe I should give the book another try. Will I be forgiven if I do and like it as little as I did the first time around? 😁
Oh, totes. I feel like there's also something a little generational and time period in it for me since I think I first found it in my early to mid-teens. There's very few books that I absolutely call incompatibility on. Besides, you love TSNotD, so you are obviously redeemable.

There's hope for me yet then! 😅 Books one loves as a teen are a very peculiar (and precious!) species, especially those one still loves as an adult. Maybe I should try to go back to the 80s and read the book, it might work better for me 😁.
I highly recommend that! Other tips: Don't bother buying parachute pants, but buy stock in Apple asap.
