We should admit that our world is dying. We should not expect anything for ourselves from the engagement in such a hostile future. It must be a pure engagement. If we apprehend such "ars morendi". Then the terror of current times will become an adventure: the experience of the beautiful. And curiously we may thus live again

The defenders of miniaturisation, of "alternative technique" belive that they are fighting the alienating mégalomania of apparatus, ad that they are returning to human dimensions [...] never before has the man cesaed to be the mesure of all things so radically as with miniaturisation. Man becomes a worthless particle, a worthless entity
Okay this is a bit shitty

He is definetly loosing his head. Like... Too much old phenomenology In a postmodern mind, a clash of ideas that concludes in a weird nonsensical match. It was quite good uptil now but... It's going downhill

Learn to live the future that is no longer ours. And we should do it in full knowledge that this future envisages the programing that will devour us

The awareness of the fact that behind the rotation nothing "hides", literally. That it is the absurd rotation that is the reality of the apparatus. With such awareness er may at least be propelled centrifugal ly out of functionalism towards nothingness

The rhythm of mass society is the manifestation of "the eternal recurrence of the same as will to power" In an anti-Nitzschean sense
This statement is a bit absurd, saying that a concept that nietzsche created in opposition to idealism is taking place but In an anti-nietzschean way feels quite redundant. It seems like he is trying to fill the word count

The cinema is a basilica without windows a cave. It is the black uterus, the Great Mother that generates and devours. Within it shadows appear. The platonic myth of the cave describes it, and Plato could be considered as the first film critic

To reformulate science dialogically implies a reformulation of society's communication Al fabric; to démocratie it. But such an epistemological task is thus a political task. It is a case of making science palitically responsible

The amphitheater demands that the irradiated information be transformed dialogically into an amorphous soup, into "public opinion"

The mass communication apparatus are black boxes that transcode messages from the trees of sience, if technique, of art, into extremely simple and poor codes

Well this is taking a rather interesting turn.
It does not matter if the reason for the fight against the death rate of newborns is noble (to save lifes) or vile (to generate cheap manual labor) what counts is that the programming functions imperfectly: it creates new problems. But the program can be perfected. The solution is "zero growth".

Oh oh Hickel gives a funky example related to this question of - if we have nothing to gain from sharing resources with future generations, would we? But I don’t have the book in Ams so remind me!
