LOL, I love that we both had this status update! I'd forgotten about Brazil AND the supposedly heated HS rivalry that was creating tension/giving Bruce a reason tobe a jerk. Ugh.

Oh the plus side, I'm savoring the Sam scenes and wish desperately to go back to #80 and re-read from the beginning again...

At least the prom queen finally makes sense (as an adult) on some level now! The Brazil trip and Liz deciding to be more assertive makes about as much sense as anything in SV.

Annnnnnnd tying Bruce's rage to his self loathing over Regina's death is another thing I'd forgotten. They really did lean hard on the whole school rivalry thing for the rest of the series, huh?

Sam declaring his love for Jessica might've made me tear up. :(

I read those first chapters at the beach party and was like, "Are we going The New Elizabeth all over again?" I'm not sure why Liz was so worried about Jess in the first place, especially since nobody else seemed concerned!

I know that's what the back cover blurb says, but I haven't gotten to that point actually reading yet, so all I see is Bruce being an asshole for basically no reason, with lots of mentions of SVH #86's plotline. Not a good look, IMO.

And yeah, with the whole Big-Mesa-raiding-the-beach-party stuff, I had Thoughts about the West Side Story mini arc to come, and did not appreciate that when I was trying to appreciate Sam, LOL!!
