interested to hear your take on this method

My son learning Finish in the MTC recommended it before he went in, to help me overcome my block of attempting to learn Vietnamese, in order to speak to my husband and son who learned it on their missions.

I’ve made every excuse in the world why I “couldn’t” pick up Vietnamese! My main complaint was, I cannot learn from a man because “your voice tones are not something I can match when you are tutoring me!”

With this books help, I have overcome my excuses and embraced the opportunity I have to learn. The first few chapters set forth to address one’s excuses! That revolutionized my mindset and helped me to drop the drama and try without fear.

At 45% completed I am grateful for this book, but probably not going to need his suggestions about going to “couchsurfing.com” to travel the world and be immersed in the language, but it is illustrative of the authors drive and motivations to learn. He seems to want to ignite in others the passion he has and I don’t know if others will feel his contagious verve, but I did. This books gimmicky title is why I would have NEVER picked it up without a referral.
