This is very interesting, but I'm having trouble figuring out how it's organized. We started with gold, then a couple other elements, then we were talking about the guy who actually put together the first periodic table, and then mercury... I don't know where I'm going! I like the writing style, but for some reason it keeps putting me to sleep. Still going.

I stalled on this for a little bit, as it is quite dense. But full of interesting anecdotes, and fast-paced, for its subject. I can't seem to decide how it is organized, though, so that is kind of bugging me. You would think alpha? But no, that doesn't seem to be the case.

I bought this for my son but I want to read it before I give it to him! It is just the kind of honed in history that I like. I think I will have to read it during the day, however.
