"They are compassionate...yet cruel. Faint of heart...yet ferocious..." Reminds me of the fey in YA books such as those written by Holly Black.

"He's not very friendly, is he?"
"Tsugiri's a good kid. He's just doesn't express himself very well."
So, he's emo. Very much acts like it too. In fact, most of the people in this manga aren't very expressive in terms of their face. They all have these very blank, expressionless faces. I think the artist was drawing more for beauty and modeling than generating emotional connections to the reader.

Judging by the cover, this girlish Alichino is supposed to have red eyes. Almost like a vampire.

These descriptions of an Alchino makes me think of them as fey creatures or beautiful devils. They trade in souls for something of equal value.

Just a few pages in and already I'm taken in by the beautiful realism of this manga! The eyes especially are wide and incredibly detailed!

And this is why I brought two manga with me to work. I knew I was going to finish one and then be bored for the rest of the day. I got this one because the cover looked interesting and I don't think there's an anime of this. So it is totally new to me.
