One of the problems with this book is that it will write code in a wonky way for no clear reason, meaning I feel like I should make it a bit more straightforward. Then later, the wonkiness turns out to have anticipated later changes. I get it, but it's a bit of a pain.

I think that because this book works mostly on one big piece of code, it has kinds of problems not seen in books with short exercises.
