"There were little birds wrapped in vine leaves;
and young gazelles each roasted whole upon a silver spit;
fresh dates, served on a bed of smoking rice;
and young corn, cut when the cob was at finger's length,
served with quail each cooked with a fig inside it, which was my favourite dish."

Not so in Sekeeta's recollection as the Winged Pharaoh in most ancient Egypt, when celebrating the annual Festival of Min:
"There was a pleasant smell of the sunny warmth of fruit and the heavy sweetness of flowers. The serving-girls, wearing tunics of green linen and wreaths of young green wheat, went among the guests with platters of food."

Maybe you've heard that corn only arrived in Europe after it was discovered in the New World and imported. For instance, from Weebly:
"Columbus was one of the first Europeans to see maize (corn). Maize was only found in the New World until Columbus introduced it into the Old World. Columbus brought maize to the Old World and significantly changed the lives of Europeans. "

But now it was a high priest of Ptah who by his will caused the plat-spirits of the grain to spin strongly, so that the seed should thrust quickly from the soil and bear crops for a rich harvest.
The high-priest went between the rows of jars, followed by nine young healer priests. The first jar of each group he himself charged with the life of Ptah, while the young priests with him each charged another.

And here's an example of how energy healing, Egyptian style, was a routine aspect of life in the kingdom where Sekeeta and her brother jointly served as Pharaoh:
In the days of my father, who had been a healer priest as well as Pharaoh, it was he that charged the first jar of grain with life.

Regarding the rhythms of life in Ancient Egypt, I love this passage:
When the waters of the inundation had subsided and left the fields strong with new life for the sowing, the Festival of Min was celebrated to mark the opening of a new cycle of fertility.

I love the passage that I've just quoted here, because not much has changed since the first dynasty of Egypt.
Some of us have reason to understand concepts related to spiritual evolution, reincarnation, and the like. Others consider these concepts, and experiences that go with them, like the superstitions of immature people.
What a fascinating place it is here, at the place I call "Earth School."

Though he saw no ordered pattern of life, he was content. He thought that what I told him were pleasant fancies, as when his serant put a crumb of food before her household goddess before she ate.
And I told him that his beliefs were as if he had forgotten all yesterdays and denied all to-morrows.

the spirit of a child springs from the mind of its parents to think their burnished thoughts; and when its body leaves its mother's womb, then for the first time it sees the sun; and in the child its parents find their immortality.

He would talk of children as though each generatin increased the father's store of knowledge, just as a tree each harvest bears a heavier crop of fruit, flowering more freely on it's lengthened boughs.

Sometimes I told him of the things that I had seen away from
Earth, but I found he listened as though I were making a pretty story for a child.
He believed that men perish when their bodies die and that their immortality is only through their children, or in men's memory.
