You know, I was more or less prepared for the nearly mortifying familiarity, the deep discomfort of feeling seen? But I didn't expect to violently dislike one of the characters (or their older perspective, at least) - even as they remain partially relatable. The juxtaposition is fascinating.

Taking a breath to squash the urge to somehow take this character's shoulders and shake them and point out a few things that were happening at Smith College around early 2003. I mean, kind of a complex situation, but I don't think it was the worst place to play out certain personal revelations, at the time.
