The opening scenes were a bit jarring, to be honest. However, by the end of the first chapter, the characters are warming up. I feel like as the story develops, our main character will begin to have epiphanies about herself and her tastes. I suspect she has always been sapphic or been putting herself in the closet subconsciously. Only time will tell how the story develops.
