Dec 4 It’s a lot easier to read than I thought it would be. It really is weird though that she doesn’t refer to herself as a woman or acknowledge that she’s wearing men’s clothes in any way. It’s harder to understand her reasoning and experience without that and very sorely lacking. Missed a great opportunity to share more. Gruesome, grisly details about wounds and deaths that were off-putting.

I’m disappointed it’s over. I wanted so much more, wanted her to keep going and share more and more. It seems like there has to be so much more to tell. Her life was amazing and I wish we had an autobiography of her life before and after the war. I want to know more about her. I didn’t get tired of reading or have it dragged out—just wanted it to keep going.

Got a bit of reading in before job, then on the way to other job. Wish I could have done more. I’m wondering where the romantic interest is and why he hasn’t been mentioned, going to have to check back for the name. I like the insight about their viewpoints, wish there was more about the common opinions and the way they viewed things.

Read a few pages before work and thought I’d get to read more but that did not happen, and I’m disappointed. Worked 3rd job after 2nd, what a life she had. Her testimony is incredible, with the things she was a witness to. It’s a lot more religious than expected.

Dec 6 She had a sense of humor which is pleasant to read, and she was such a good writer. The way she says things makes it interesting to read, and I’m amazed at what she was capable of and how accomplished she was. It’s amazing to get her firsthand account of these battles and to see how she thought and acted and was so knowledgeable and capable. Got so much reading done at work thanks to a slow day!

Was busy doing other things at work and busy this evening so barely read. She did make a reference to wearing a costume and changing her name so Idk why the intro said she didn’t…And she did spy work, so Idk why that was made out to be a lie either. I do wish there was a lot more detail and she had come right out and been clearer about things.

Dec 3 xx Very frustrating day trying to read at work. On the busiest register so kept having to put the book down. Didn’t even get past the intro. I wish the intro didn’t give away so much detail, should have saved that for the actual book.
