Barb and I started reading through the Bible each year in 2016. So this is our tenth year.

Barb and I are 84% through this year's reading. The first year we read through the Bible was 2016.

Barb and I continue to read through the Bible each evening on a one-year plan. As I read one sentence and then the next and so on, it's jarring how frequently and suddenly they switch back and forth between time-worn familiarity and unspeakable strangeness. In other words, the parts of the Bible we ignore are often immediately adjacent to the parts we love.

When I read several chapters of the Bible at once, it helps tie things together. Along the way I see familiar verses in the actual context. And I see lots of strange ideas we never, ever, talk about in church.

Near the end of reading through the Bible for 2024.

I finished in Dec of 2023.

Barb and I are on our eighth year of reading through the Bible each year with the BibleProject app.
