People can't pay their credit card debt because they don't save. Really? Even a 'modest' $20,000 debt on a very low 18% interest at minimum repayments would take 54+ years and at a whopping $984 a month (what family can actually afford that?) it's 2 years to clear it totally.

A phrase frequently used in this book is 'financial independence' which means investments work hard enough that a person doesn't have to work anymore. This book gives beginners the wrong impression it's just saving well.

Their figures don't add up and they don't even talk of if its compounding. You can't take a book about money seriously if their figures are inaccurate.

2011 it was published but their saying 8% return on $100. Where they would achieve that, I'm not sure. Markets were well on the way down and this return is unrealistic. $3 a day is $90 over a month so their figures are also 10% out claiming $3 a day is $100 a month. All credibility for this book just went out the window. I'm horrified that these people are in the business of giving financial advice.

Let down. 'Multiple income streams' turned out to only talk about starting a business then asks the reader to brain storm all the ways a person can make money. There are so many basic topics to consider and they have only written about one of the highest risk methods that isn't for most. They state 80% of small business fails but that's the only offering they have? Go with an 80% fail rate idea?

It's almost like the authors are afraid to give advise in case of some kind of repercussion. Skipping, filling, and well.... I come out of most chapters feeling like I read a lot but haven't got much out of it. There are vague ideas but nothing solid. I can't agree on the concept of not focusing on debts first. It's breaking the first cardinal rule of good financial common sense.

Good rounded messages in this chapter. I can relate but even grabbed an idea in here that I might just try!

Again, good ideas but many situations that exist in many marriages have not been covered. I've found this chapter gappy but the book overall focussed on personal experience so I assume they can't discuss ones they haven't experienced themselves which is a shame because many will miss out on concepts suited to them.

A solid chapter, important lessons and the exercises are good too. Would be great to see examples in the exercises.

Good theme of taking action not waiting, of defining where you are now and where you want to be but your now and later not someone else's. Again, I would do this differently, but the message is still decent for people in need of direction.

I'm conflicted. The book is about promoting working as a team in all things money. It's about how to work together. Then I get the line 'I could have consulted people I trust like my wife. But I didn't'. I don't know how to take it. Why not involve your wife in important choices that affect you both?
