Seems to be a vampire story with the expected splatter clumsiness. The action sequences are well described and the flat characters are distinct enough. I'm always intrigued to see what an author does with monsters in the old west, so hoping for good things to come. So far it's been a lot like an old episode of Tales from the Darkside.
