I'm about three-fourths of the way through, and this was far more informative about the structure of North Korea's inner workings during the Kim Jong-il era than I was expecting. This is more than just a memoir of a NK defector's escape. I won't disclose spoilers, but the depictions of the horrors the people faced due to starvation under the regime... escaping the regime... all of it breaks my heart.
