This was recommended to me because I'm a Red Rising fan and I can see why. This book MUST have been inspired by RR. It has less action, but it's eerily similar.

The last time I read a James Islington book I described it as a cross between Sanderson, Jordan, and X-Men. If this new series is giving off Red Rising vibes I definitely need to bump Islington back up my to-read list!
