I read a review on here that said not to treat the book as dark fantasy but as horror and now I'm having a much better time.

I'm so confused. Am I supposed to like the main character? Is this a villain origin story? So far this whole book has been so meanspirited I don't know what to think.

Also, please, I think I've read every possible description of candy rotting.
