It's not very well-written, but it has some interesting ideas and I didn't know much about the topic before picking it up. I've only read about Christian mysticism in the context of broader Christianity, or compared to eastern mysticism. This puts it in the context of western magic and the occult.

It covers all the time periods, and covers all of those topics. But I wouldn't say it explains much. I ended up being disappointed, so I want to find something else to read on it.
