Today I read more about the back story of Sams's mom and the mother of Max. Sams's mom had lots of trouble breathing and slept in a hospital bed in the living room of their house. When learning about max mom we learn more about how little they talked. While in the hospital, Sam mentions that he has never even seen her without makeup and her hair done.

As I read today the pieces started to connect a little bit more about what was happening. For example, I learned more about the back story of Sam and his girlfriend, like how she now lives somewhere else and she was the one who gave up Max and left him with Sam.

This book continues to get more interesting. Slow start but am definitely starting to enjoy it more!

The book opens up with Sam, the main character of the story sleeping in class. Sam goes to an alternative school due to the fact that he had a baby with his girlfriend. Sam is a senior in high school who lives with his dad, his mom passed away when he was nine. In the beginning of the book sam lost contact with his girlfriend because she was mad at him for a reason that was not explained in the reading.
