this book makes me feel like im slogging through mud. its the same feeling you get when your, like, in water up to your mid-calf and you try to run, but the water is slowing you down to the point you cant go fast, but youre using the same amount of energy youd use to run normally. thats how i feel reading this. iykyk

ok like wheres the plot, id be fine if i asked this like 30 pages ago but rn its just a love story with basically nothing going wrong except a bunch of misogynistic men being like "oh, you woman? woman bad."

damn we got tons of elizabeth zott lore within the second chapter

pretty good set-up so far, i love the 1950s/early 1960s setting. i am worried it may fall down the path of "independent female girlboss who slays the day away" by the end, but what can i say i love a good trailblazer story

im so ready to read this mf, i have been DYING to read this after reading that monstrosity of a YA called "The Mary Shelley Club"
