Okay, so here's the other thing I realized about this book in comparison to the first one: there's less getting in their own way. Like you know that thing that characters do where they have a whole argument in their head and just don't talk to the other person involved in the conflict/ dynamic? The first book had a lot of that where it was just misinterpretation on misinterpretation on not talking to each other....

I'm enjoying this one much more than the first one. I'm not sure if that's because I already knew the tail of Persephone and Hades and so there was more to stack up against a retelling or if the vibes and chemistry of Psyche and Eros are just... more interesting (?)
I'm genuinely not even mad that there's only been one sex scene in this 170 pages, whereas in the first one I was actively waiting for those sex scenes.

This book definitely has less of that, Even though they're a "forced marriage," there's a we're-in-it-together-ness that the first book really just missed out on. I think I needed them to be on the same team even if they didn't always realize they were on the same team. We definitely get that in this one
