Never taking your child to child-centered activities because this makes them self-centered? I think we need to cool it on the over-scheduling our children but NEVER? That's silly.
This book lacks is nuance and balance. NEVER do this...ALWAYS do this...life is a little more gray. I also feel like the author mentioned evidence-based parenting and then doesn't often use evidence to back up assertions.

Some of this is ringing very true to me but other parts just seem ... off.
I love the idea of allowing your toddler to be helpful.
Children shouldn't have toys because they're a *recent invention*? Easily disproved. Per Britannica: "The earliest-known... historical mention of a toy comes from about 500 bce in a Greek reference to yo-yos.. It is believed..that the yo-yo originated in China at a much earlier date"
