Interesting. I have a really old edition of that book at home. It has merely 300 pages and a big font. It seems I never read the actual but some shortened version. 🫨

I also stumbled onto a shorted version on accident 🤦‍♂️ I couldn't find a proper version in german on Amazon.
I have the translated version as a physical copy by Matthias Jendis which is quite good. It's published by dtv.

I had no clue. It looks like your decision to go with Jendis‘ translation was the most reasonable of the 5-6 available ones. I read a longer article on literaturkritik_de (but cannot link it here) about it now. Quite interesting.
