So far, this book is proving to be boring, predictable, and laden with typical fantasy tropes. And now there's a love story I didn't want, and don't care about. None of the characters feel distinct; Piran and Verran might as well be the same character, since they read exactly the same anyway. Same goes for the "Russian" twins too.
