The ending is horrific. I think it was a bit premature. Still if you don’t go into it thinking it’s a book about the invasion of Iraq, you will understand it was more about the cleanup. Reminded me of when Eugene got back from the pacific and they discussed in 1946 when they were discharged to parades nor pretty girls
