I cannot believe that anaconda has caught on. It is so unbelievably slow. Who has the patience for it when pip is *right there*?

Wow, conda is so much slower than pip for package installations. Why is it favored by the authors? For a language that, famously, ideally has just one obvious way to do a given thing, I’m finding the reality very different.
