The protagonist seems like a really hateful witch, with trust issues from all kinds of neglect growing up.
Also, nearing the end of chapter 3: I cannot tell if the stepfather; Harold, is truly some soulless prick or if Ella isn’t hearing him out. Maybe I’m siding with him too much due to my understanding of conflicts with work.
Whatever, the Protagonist needs THERAPY.
