I've mostly stopped giving star ratings here:

1. Increasingly when I'm asked to rate something it feels like I'm being asked to punish someone.

2. I'm increasingly uncomfortable with amazon (or whoever) aggregating these ratings to sell stuff (or see #1)

3. My ratings reflect my personal reading experience, which might not bear on the quality of the work, & were mostly to remind myself how I felt about it (see #2)
