Much to my surprise, this book is very different stylistically to its two predecessors. Rather than their almost lyrical, literary style, it’s written entirely committed from a character’s perspective, in first-person, giving the tone a very different touch, more popular sounding. It’s also much more relaxed in pace, instead of the break-neck speed of revelations I was used to.

After months of finding myself unable to pick up any fiction book, meandering about with dozens of half-read non-fiction books, 3 chapters in and onto the next one, I had to admit to myself that nothing else was going to satisfy the yearning for those grande universe-bending head-scratching ideas and concepts, as the Hyperion Cantos can, so I finally picked up a copy of its third installment at Strand Books in NYC.
