I have this tendency (good or bad, your choice) of adding books to my TBR pile for the hype of the good cover, when I know absolutely nothing about them.. I don't even read the plot!! So I was quite surprised by where this story goes and about the new perspective is giving me about indian communities; and loving the thriller vibe!

Same!! I read this last year and I was convinced it was fantasy and gonna have some sort of fire magic! I was very surprised to say the least but I really enjoyed it!
