I’ve just finished the 1st short story of 8.
I feel like I understand the emotions and experiences Ma is attempting to convey, however they get muddled and fall flat on account of her trying to portray them through an original lens. Confusing more so than anything else.
Hopefully the other 7 change my mind.

Still not loving this.
I can’t tell if this is the same woman in each of the stories, or if they’re all different. If they’re all different, they’re all monotonous miserable people and it’s really hard to identify with.
Not to mention, there is no fucking plot. The frustration I feel with this book is what I imagine people who dislike modern art feel when they look at it.
