I was looking for an old commentary on the Book of Job from one of the old Puritans or Reformers or Ryle or Pink and really did not want to read a modern commentary for fear it would not stay focused on the Word of God but would drift into story telling or personal examples from the writer's life. So far, so good, until page 30, that is. Then, the author introduces baby Pierce. It comes off as a distraction.
