A historical fiction novel in verse. A story which gives voice to the horror of slavery and especially the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850. It is just outrageous that this was once the "law of the land." Even though this is horribly eye-opening, we MUST teach and know the truth about our history. That is the only way to reconciliation.
