The cognitive dissonance of the Jesuit slave-owners trying to act all righteous by insisting on ONLY selling their slaves to fellow Catholics so that the enslaved people can continue to “practice their faith” while simultaneously breaking families apart and treating human beings like dirt is both infuriating and somehow unsurprising.
