Started reading this a few days ago and I am utterly compelled with the synopsis — colonialism in South Africa (by the Dutch) that not only affected the local South African community, but also Indonesians and other malay people.
Fast forward to today — South Africa being the only country that has the guts to go against Israel at the ICJ. I am now holding back my tears as i read this book.

Because it hurts knowing that colonialism has scarred so many countries, its wound still gaping in the open with no drying in sight. How are we still allowing such atrocities to happen in the 21st century? Why are we, the colonised kingdoms, the ones standing up for each other? This is so unfair, and yet thats exactly how the world is
