Doing a reread of the audiobook, a year after reading it the first time, and McCurdy's descriptions of trauma and abuse are haunting. and visceral. I'm not usually one for non-fiction or biographies, but this stuck with me and I felt a need to experience it again. The narration of her own story changes in tone and voice as time passes which adds another layer. Trigger warnings galore, but an incredible read.
