So far this looks like a work of political science.
The author is considered to be a neo-marxist, which intrigued me. But so far he talks about the technicalities of the state apparatus and its tasks, and the different aspects of it.
The first chapter starts with a bit of information about the term "dictatorship of the proletariat" and then continues to dive in to other aspects and perspectives about the state.
