She's definitely not the first, but she's been the most brazen. At least the others have had the decency to change up the emojis and headings to give the appearance of being unique.

Cécile, the worst part is that if you go to her GR page -- she's now blocked me after messaging me to say she didn't use my reviews as inspiration, BTW -- she's an AUTHOR!! If she can't even come up with her own way to write a review, how is she writing entire books without using someone else's as her muse...

No, my distinct format of reviews. It's just very disappointing that other Goodreads users are willing to rip off the style has made me stand out among reviewers.

She has one story on GR…..listed twice.
With a 5* review on both that she’s written herself,in a very familiar style.
No other reviews on either.
Sad,really…..

That's embarrassing .......for her, and especially considering she's an "author." I don't read a lot of dark romance, but I love the way you break everything down. If she likes your format so much, the least she can do is put her own spin on it.

That's my feeling. She didn't even bother to try and change anything to give it her own flair. Everything is identical to my format, clear down to using {brackets} where most people would use (parentheses). 🙄

I get that I don't have the market cornered on reviews having a specific format. But when other GR users are messaging me about the similarities, that's icky.

After messaging me that the format wasn't taken from me, it's something she "created for her podcast on Spotify, she promptly blocked me. But, the review that was brought to my attention was on Center Ice and the user's name is Jasmine Wheeler.

I’m totally guilty of adoring your emoji rating system and wanting to use a similar format, you definitely are my number one go to for finding my next read and I would hate to make you feel disrespected.
Idk what I would do without your reviews. I just go straight to your profile now and use it as my personal recommendation. I know if Kursed reviewed it, especially a 5 starer, it’s an automatic must read. I have found multiple of my my top 10 favorite books ever thanks to you.

Thank you for being such an active member, for crafting us a review and rating system with so much detail and effort so that we can rely on you to provide all the details we wish we had available in the blurb before giving a book a chance.

I absolutely appreciate you and every other user who takes the time to, not only, read my reviews, but use them as a guide!! My rant is about users, and one in particular, who think it’s okay to 100% copy my style simply because it’s not something I can copyright.

Exactly!! I’ve seen a number of other Goodreads reviewers who have adopted a very similar style. But at least they’ve had the decency to change it up a bit, giving it their own flair.

The person in the photo does appear very young. And thank you. I just wish people would follow the Golden Rule. I would never dream of lifting someone’s style in its entirety, even for something like a book review. I would, however, take inspiration from another reviewer and put my unique spin on it.
