It’s going to take me months to read this book because it makes me so angry I have to stop after 10 pages. We all know (I hope) about FDR turning away the Saint Louis, but he was an actual antisemite and liar who left Jews to be massacred rather than do the bare
minimum. But American Jewish leaders protected him from criticism lest they be perceived as war mongers, and because they agreed with New Deal policies.
