I am dead. This book has been an absolutely incredible journey and I’m not ready for it to be over.

I don’t think I knew that locusts were an end stage transformation of grasshoppers high on serotonin. And that the serotonin can be set off by tickling their back legs 😳🤨😲

I no longer have any idea where this ride is going. She’s purchased an ant farm and we are into insect-inspired music and dances. Cultural entomology, for the fancy among us.

I just know that I am now fully committed to this buggish whirlwind, wherever it takes us.

I now have several sources for purchasing insects for consumption. Am growing more fond of this author as she relates her experience finding a deer carcass in the woods with her kids, then bringing home the bones with semi-decomposed flesh. Sounds gross, but her unbounded curiosity is incredibly endearing.

Slow going, but just got to a point where we are eating insects for colon health. So also super fascinating.
