Honestly it’s hard because I think this is a poem that would sweep me off my feet if I saw it in paper, I love the sentiments, the words and the way it’s read but I think I would be able to deep dive into the meaning and feel it more intensely if I could also read it.

Beautifully crafted but not a tale of knowledge that I can identify with which is why it’s less powerful for me, since I never knew my ‘homeland’.
But I remind that poetry is unable to be validated. It is no less good because someone else does not feel it in their bones the way you do. If it tells one story it is enough, and I think this tells far more than one persons story.

Gods of Beirut - 3⭐️
It was good but not a poem written for me so it didn’t have the same impact. Obviously that’s not a bad thing but it is subjective. It was a powerful poem, and I can never have anything against the love and turmoil of homelands such as this for Beirut so I credit it accordingly.

I could not even tell you why or express how but this poem validated me and touched me and I can’t even be sure that I understood it. But somehow I felt like it understood me and that is powerful in a different way.
