"Till September Petronella" Devastating. Why does paranoia create such great writing? Maybe that's what Hemingway meant by "s shock-proof bullshit detector." Paranoia is like x-ray vision. Rhys is a writer of whom I always find myself jealous--no one writes about human frailty and egotism the way she does. Sublime.
