This is very much a shut-your-mind-off kind of non-fiction, even though it's about actual people there are no footnotes provided in the moment as evidence of what the author is claiming about these people, and I kind of love that. She's also arguing how real life impacts the fiction of these women, which is an approach I took in my masters dissertation and was told off for, so this makes me feel justified!
